Pol Roger Trophy Final
Mar 12, 2017 - Dec 22, 2024 RTC N Wood
The consolidated rules of the Pol Roger Trophy, Field Trophy and Brodie Cup for 2016-17 are available above.
A short summary of the changes is set out below:
There is now a single set of rules for all three cups – Pol, Field and Brodie incorporating rules specific to each competition but otherwise avoiding unintended variations between the different sets of rules.
- All Brodie Cup matches in each handicap band are to be played with the home player or pairing owing half 15 (irrespective of the actual handicaps of the players) to counteract home advantage. Pol and Field matches are to continue to be played level.
- In all competitions a club which played a first round match away from home in that competition in each of the previous two seasons will automatically be drawn at home in that competition (taking the Pol and the Field as separate competitions for this purpose) save that a club which failed to fulfil a fixture in that competition in the previous season will automatically be drawn away in that competition.
- All finals will be played at a neutral venue.
The consolidated rules emphasise that teams in the Pol, Field and Brodie must be managed by a playing captain who must ensure that his or her team complies with the the Rules and will be responsible for implementing the arrangements for all matches and for all communications with opponents, the Stewards and the T&RA. Captains are requested, in particular, to note the provisions of the rules and in particular to note the eligibility requirements in the rules – the vast majority of questions and appeals to the Stewards relate to eligibility.
