The Inter livery 2024 took place on Wednesday 6th November.
Final:
Skinners Leopards: Mercers bt Tallow Chandlers 1 4/3
Thomson Tyndall Trophy: Skinners 2 bt Salters 7/1
The pairs were divided into three groups of four pairs each for the round robin stage, with the winners of each group going forward to the semi-finals together with the best runner-up.
The outright winners of the three boxes were the International Bankers 2 (Michael Llewelyn-Jones and Nick Grant), the Salters (Piers Vacher and Lucy Ings-Chambers) and the Apothecaries (Jonathan Brown and Chris Marguerie), whilst the Skinners 2 (Richard Dalzell and Harri Johnson) squeaked through by the tiniest of margin to be the best runner-up.
In the first semi-final, the Salters prevailed over the International Bankers by 6 games to four whilst in the second semi, when the bell went (at 28 minutes on the clock) the Apothecaries and Skinners were locked at 3 all, 30 all, so it was down to one point which Harri managed to secure for the Skinners from the service end.
In the final, the Salters, having not lost a match all day, couldn’t get going and the Skinners, with the oldest and the youngest players in the tournament and getting better with each match, romped home by 7 games to 1.
