* Category G Open Championship (Level Singles for Handicaps 60-69) 2025

In the 65–69 category, Stephen Dance had two terrific matches, both going the distance in three sets, but he couldn’t quite muster the same in the final, where he was defeated by a dominant Vincent Dobbin. Vincent made light work of his side of the draw before knocking out the number 1 seed in the semi-final. Well done, Vincent!

In the 60–64 category, the championship was stacked. Mark Allen, the number 1 seed, strolled his way through the top half of the draw with fairly straightforward matches. The bottom half of the draw had some brilliantly close contests, with Damian Mayer, George Calvocorressi, and Nick Leadbeater all making their way through the draw, showing excellent home court advantage.

Standout matches included a 6/5 in the third match, in which Giles Triffit overcame Damian Mayer. George Calvocorressi came through a close quarter-final and stormed into the semi-final. The final had all the makings of a cracking match, and it did not disappoint. After two hours and plenty of excellent Tennis, Mark Allen won 4/6 6/3 6/5!
