* Amateur Singles and Doubles Championships 2025

Rob Shenkman battled through a tough first set, against a courageous Bertie Vallat, eventually winning 6/5. The set was in the balance and could have gone either way, with both players evenly matched and arguably Rob's greater experience pulled him across the line. Once ahead, Rob never looked back and started to dominate the match, losing only one further game in the next two sets, winning 6/5 6/0 6/1. This is Rob's third successive Amateur Championship title and afterwards he paid tribute to his opponent's rise in the sport.

Since 2019, Jamie Giddins and Ed Kay have been virtually unstoppable, capturing their fifth title in 2025. Aside from Covid and last year's rising stars, James Medlow and Max Trueman, their record has been impeccable. This year's final saw three epic sets, each decided in their eleventh game, with Jamie and Ed edging ahead of Nick James and Bertie Vallat in the tightest of third sets, which could have gone either way. At 6/5 5/6 6/5 however, it was Jamie and Ed who held the momentum and swept through the fourth without conceding any game to win the historical Bailey Cup, dating back to 1920.

T&RA Chairman, Richard Compton-Burnett, awarded the cup and Pol Roger champagne to the winners and congratulated the finalists for their part in a high quality match.
