T&RA INTERVIEW ANSWERS

When and how did you get involved in Real Tennis?

My dad played rackets and tennis and he first got me on court when I was nine.

Why do you love Real Tennis?

‘Realers’ gets me on my days off work because my dad lets me play tournaments.

Which famous person would you love to see play Real Tennis?

Dennis Rodman: super talented athlete with a bit of the crazy in him. Would probably invent a few flair shots and maybe even build a court once he started living the game. Would be great value on the tour.

How do you think your opponents would describe you?

Living proof that reading early 21st century T&RA annuals from an early age will make you a decent player.

If you could start your own branded product line as a Real Tennis star, what product would you choose and why?

I would love to put my face on some Creatine/Pre Workout/Protein shake type gym supplement to fuel the next generation of Real Tennis athletes. I think that it would take more than pre workout and protein powder to get to Camden Riviere's level though!

If someone gave you £1,000,000 to improve the game of Real Tennis, where would you invest it?

I would invest £1,000,000 into some hawkeye/hotspot type technology so that players can challenge markers calls. I think at the top level we are really close to adding this as part of the game and I don't see any reason why Real Tennis can't join squash and lawn tennis as embracing a review/challenge system.
