Clifton Cup 2019

Really excited to see you all at the Clifton Cup this weekend.

Find enclosed the doubles & singles draw and schedule of play for the weekend. First and foremost please let me know if you have any schedule conflicts asap. Best to reach me on 07886618317 if this is the case.

Weekend Itinerary

• Friday evening there are 3 doubles matches and two invitational singles matches. Please come to watch and support these fixtures! I will make sure there are beers for the gallery. Following this we shall keep with tradition and go to The Mall (66 The Mall, Bristol BS8 4JG) pub for beers. Friday evening food is a little difficult owing to the fixtures but there are plenty of options nearby to grab a bite, including Deliveroo to the gallery.
• Owing to the fact that we have 3 pairs short for the tournament this year I have provided byes to some pairs. This, rather conveniently, has opened up space in the draw for a later start on Saturday whilst the rugby world cup between England & Australia is on at 08.15. In order for this to work the first match must start promptly at 10am. Please don’t get lost in the pub…(Jock)
• People are free to make their own arrangements for the rugby but I believe that Channings (20 Pembroke Rd, Bristol BS8 3BB) will be open and may be a good place to congregate before going to the court
• Saturday matches will continue throughout the day without pause. Please be at court at least one hour early in case we are running ahead of schedule.
• We have a plate and due to the fact that there are 3 first round byes, there is plenty of opportunity to get on court again if you wish - even if you make it to round 2.
• Saturday is black tie at the Pavillion and the drinks reception will begin at 19.30. My official responsibilities end here but I’ve heard a rumour that La Rocca is a fun night out…
• Sunday we begin at 0900 with various finals ending at approximately 1300-1400 so everybody can get home in good time
