A great result for the World Champions, Tom Billings and Richard Owen, who defeated Ben Cawston and Will Hopton four games to love in a thrilling final. The gallery was packed, with T&RA doyens, Brown Advisory and many other Rackets supporters.

Billings and Owen were certainly at their devastating best, with powerful, accurate serving throughout the match, coupled with remarkable anticipation and the uncanny ability to play exactly the right shot. Cawston and Hopton rallied hard and there were many remarkable points where they simply responded to everything thrown at them, but the pressure was relentless.

In each of the games, it was Billings and Owen who made the early running. Cawston showed his determination in the first game to claw the deficit back to 7-10, before the world champions pulled away. Similar in the second game, but again with Billings and Owen always with the upper hand. Hopton showed his class throughout the match, but he was largely recovering seemingly lost causes. The last two games the momentum was with Billings and Owen as they swept to their fifth British Open Doubles title, since opening their account in 2016, noting the event wasn't held in two of the years due to covid.

Peter Mallinson from Brown Advisory presented the prizes, and highlighted the incredible standard of Rackets on display. Brown Advisory have now been the principal sponsor of Rackets since July 2015, a period which covers the world champions dominance of the event.
