Amateur Doubles Championship 2025: 14th - 16th February 2025

Tom Billings and Richard Owen started the match and meant business, quickly establishing a two game lead over Alex Titchener-Barrett and Nick James. The third games was much tighter, with Tom and Richard just edging the early exchanges. But then Alex and Nick found their length and fought back to game point. That point was missed narrowly, Tom and Richard closed in but it was Alex and Nick who held their nerve, taking the third game, 15/13. Back to business in the fourth, right up to match point at 14-2. But opportunity missed and Alex won a point and then Nick's run of five, narrowed the deficit to 8-14. But this merely delayed the inevitable, with the game closed out 15/8, and the championship.
T&RA Chairman, Richard Compton-Burnett, thanked the Jesters for their sponsorship, and Nick James for running a superb tournament.
