The T&RA and The Queen’s Club Foundation Bring Local Students to the British Open
The side galleries are buzzing today at the Doubles Quarter Finals of the British Open, as the T&RA and the Queen’s Club Foundation have partnered up to allow over 30 students from local state schools the opportunity to attend in small groups throughout the day.
Before seeing the world’s best Real Tennis players in action, the students get to participate in an on-court introduction to the sport with visiting Royal Tennis Court Junior Pro Jack Josephs.
Josephs is a recent graduate of the T&RA’s Investing in Professionals programme (which offers an opportunity for sports people to secure an enjoyable and financially stable long-term career in Real Tennis), which makes him the perfect choice to introduce the sport to local children and pique their interest in considering Real Tennis as an athletic pursuit or even potential career.
Both the T&RA and the Queen’s Club Foundation are committed to making racquet sports more inclusive and accessible to young people, whatever their background or circumstances. This initiative is just one of many that we are involved in to help bring more juniors into the game of Real Tennis. Donations are greatly welcomed and vital for ensuring these kinds of initiatives can continue, so we invite you to learn more about our organisations and give a donation if you can.
