Singles - Adam Jeffrey won the Singles last year and he retained his title, beating Maggie Henderson-Tew in the Final, 6/4.

The logistics of the tournament went well and it was a most convivial event, as a number of players new to the event were welcomed, and the matches being played in a highly competitive but extremely friendly spirit. The organisers are keen for ‘The Scottish’ to be as well known for its hospitality and catering as for the tennis. No one left hungry or thirsty and the Pol Roger still wines were enjoyed by players and their guests all weekend.
The repechage format in the Singles was hugely popular, as it meant that, regardless of triumphs or disasters on the first day, everyone went back into the main draw on Sunday morning and so still had a chance to win. This also ensured that everyone had a good deal of tennis over the weekend.
It was much appreciated that so many players stayed on through the tournament and everyone who played expressed a strong wish to enter again next year. A number have already pre-booked for next year's tournament, which is very pleasing. We may expand the entry for the third Scottish Championships in 2017 in order to accommodate all those wanting to play, and so starting play on the Friday evening is being considered as a possibility.
John Moule, the Warden of Radley College, was kind enough to present the trophies and prizes that had been so generously provided by Champagne Pol Roger, and the results were notable, as they were last year, for the success of the Jeffrey brothers. Adam, speaking on behalf of the players, thanked the Professionals for their marking excellence and to Maggie for running the tournament and doing all the catering. He paid particular tribute to Champagne Pol Roger for its generous support that makes the tournament possible and has ensured its success.
