Real Tennis World Championship 2023
We look forward to the competition between World Champion Camden Riviere and challenger John Lumley which will be held at Westwood Country Club on September 17, 19, and 21, 2023. Both Camden (Westwood Country Club touring pro) and John (Racquet Club of Philadelphia pro) are playing amazing tennis, and this will be an outstanding showcase of the best court tennis players in the world.
Westwood opened the doors to our fantastic new facility in October of 2022 and enjoyed a fully booked court since then. Recently have held several events at Westwood, including the U.S. Ladies Open, U.S. Amateur, and the 2023 Cherry Blossom and very pleased to announce that the court has received high praise from all who have played here, including Rob Fahey and Camden Riviere.
The week of the World Championship promises to be a terrific time, with activities and events taking place before and during the week of the competition. Extremely thrilled to announce the first-ever Grassi Cup, held in honour of "The Ambassador," Temple Grassi. The Grassi Cup consists of a pentathlon of Temple's favourite competitive events: court tennis, golf, tennis, pickleball, and backgammon. The competition is open to all and will begin on Friday the 15th and run through the 21st. It will be a team event; you need not participate in all events to enter. It promises to be a great time!
As Westwood Country Club is located just 10 miles from Washington D.C., there will be many opportunities for sightseeing and other activities, should you wish to incorporate a bit of tourism with your visit.
At the facility of Westwood, you will have access to dining at the club while attending the tournament. During the sign-in process, attendees will be assigned a temporary number to utilize the dining facilities during the event. Other dining options are also available within just a few miles of the club entrance.
The Club has partnered with Hilton McLean Tysons Corner and arranged for a reduced room rate during the event. A link is available on the website to book your stay during the event.
