Peter Luck-Hille Cup Finals Day
Throughout this season junior teams from 5 clubs have been competing in a series of inter-club handicap matches. The clubs represented were RTC, Petworth, Radley, Prested & Seacourt. The top 3 teams, Seacourt, Radley & Prested qualified through to Finals Day which was held at Prested Hall on July 18th.
The morning match was played between Radley & Prested to determine who would go forward to play league winners Seacourt in the final. This turned out to be a very close run thing with Prested coming back from a poor start to level the match at 4-4 and going through to the final on game difference only.
Seacourt made an excellent start in the final and managed to keep up the pressure throughout, going on to become the first winners of this magnificent new trophy.
The initial season has been a great success and it will now be rolled out with an invitation to many more clubs for the 2015/16 season starting this October.
Many thanks obviously go out to the Dedanists’ Foundation who came up with the initial concept and made it all possible and to Peter Luck-Hille for contributing funds. Thanks also to the team organisers who arranged all the matches. We look forward to next season’s competition and the inclusion of many more clubs.
