Jamie Douglas wins delayed MCC 2021 Silver Racquet vs Jamie Giddins 3-0 and will play Ed Kay on 26th March for the MCC Gold Racquet.
Defending Silver Racquet and 9 time Gold Racquet champion Jamie Douglas defeated Jamie Giddins (2021 All Comers champion) 3-0 at the start of February to win the MCC Silver Racquet. Douglas started far stronger, taking a strong early lead and taking the first set 6-1. The second set was neck and neck and at 5-5, 30-30 it was anyone’s game. Douglas sneaked the set and was able to carry this momentum through to the third set to finish the match off 6-1, 6-5, 6-2. It was a great match and Jamie Douglas goes on to play Ed Kay, as he attempts to win his tenth title.
The MCC Gold Racquet will be played at Lords at 11am on 26th March. I would strongly recommend anyone who is free to go and watch this match. There will be drinks and lunch at the Lords’ Tavern after the completion of the match.
