Manchester Searching for New Tennis Professional
MTRC is looking to fill a Professional role with a September 2024 start date.
Manchester Tennis and Racquets Club is looking for a self-motivated and passionate individual with Professional experience to help grow and develop all of the club’s racquet sports, including padel, pickleball, squash, Real Tennis and Rackets. Start date September 2024.
Reporting to the Head Pro, the candidate needs to be friendly, hardworking and approachable with good social skills. They must also have a strong tenacity towards getting things done, including:
- The development of coaching programs
- Approaching schools, colleges, and nearby universities, as well as the local
community to encourage the participation in these sports and to become
members of our club.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring members and their guests receive courteous, prompt and
professional attention
- Coaching in padel, pickleball, Rackets, squash and Real Tennis
- Ball making and Racket services
- Recruitment and induction of new members
- Organising club tournaments and inter club fixtures
- Court cleaning and maintenance
- Increasing court usage
- Development of coaching programs for younger players and under 25 year
groups
- Development and expansion of club merchandise
Qualifications and Skills
- Working experience as a Real Tennis professional or coaching in padel,
squash or Rackets
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build
relationships with members of all ages and backgrounds.
- Proficiency in organsing events, lessons and clinics to improve members
technique and playing ability
- Must be able to work flexible hours including regular weekends and
evenings
- Must be able to work with the team including involvement in non-sporting
tasks
- Must possess a hard-working attitude and “can do “mentality
- Great attention to detail in administration and also in the physical
appearance of the club as a whole
- First Aid qualifications
- Investing in Professionals (IiP) qualification
