Malvern College: Refurbished Rackets Courts Officially Open
Hard on the heels of the first leg of the Rackets World Championship, Malvern will officially open its two newly refurbished courts and dedicate them in honour of Ron Hughes, the Rackets professional at Malvern from 1956 � 1986.� The funds required to undertake the project were donated by Old Malvernians and friends of Malvern College with the help of a fund-raising committee chaired by Michael McLintock.�� Vera, Ron�s widow will unveil the plaque at the official ceremony in the presence of the Chairman of the College Council, Lord MacLaurin of Knebworth, DL and the Headmaster of the College, Antony Clark.
During the afternoon there will be a series of Exhibition matches involving Simon Shenkman and Tom Bomford who play Mark and Paul Nicholls in the OM match, Sally Jones and Claire Vigrass play Alex Kurkjian and Alex Garside in the first official Ladies match and finally in a Grand Exhibition match, the Noel Bruce winning Malvern pair Ben Bomford and Mark Hubbard will play Will Hopton (Eton) and Christian Portz (Winchester).
