Longtime Rackets Player Nigel Kenyon Passes Away
The T&RA announces the passing of Nigel Kenyon, who died over Christmas, on 27th December.
Nigel was a long-standing member of MTRC. He was the main author of the Club's centennial history and was one of the small number of active racketeers who kept the game alive at Manchester during the 60s and 70s. He was also the author of an autobiography "Playing on a Shoestring!"
Nigel played Rackets, and presented a trophy for the Over 60 Doubles, called The Peter Pan Salver. Howard Angus was a serial winner, along with David Watkins.
In later life, Nigel lived in Windsor and often drop into Eton to watch the school’s Rackets. He would regularly visit Holyport to watch Tennis, pitch off-the-wall ideas to grow the club, and sit and have a chat with the Professionals.
We pass our condolences to his partner, Margaret.
