Farewell to Simon Stevens
It is with deep regret that the T&RA announces the death of Simon Stevens, a great supporter of the Association, Real Tennis in general and a Board Director of The Queen's Club, following a long illness.
Simon had been a passionate and committed member of Queen’s for over 20 years. During that time he has been a huge contributor to every aspect of the Club, whilst also developing a successful career initially in law and latterly in finance.
Simon was a quality sportsman. Apart from being Eton Fives champion at school for three successive years, he was also very talented at Lawn Tennis, representing Combined Universities while at Durham. When he took up Real Tennis his natural ability saw him prove good enough to become a member of the Queen's Field Trophy team.
Over recent years few people have given so much of their time to their sport. He also found time to be Chairman of the Old Etonian Racquets and Tennis Committee and he held a number of other charitable interests. Simon will be very sorely missed by all who knew him.
Our condolences to his wife Sally and their daughter and two sons.
