Ben Cawston retains World Singles Championship
Ben Cawston, the current World Champion, has dominated over the last last 2 years winning 7 out of 8 of the qualifying tournaments, including all 4 Opens. Ben therefore retains his World Championship.
Following the completion of the latest qualifying period for the singles World Championship, the RWCC has considered whether, in accordance with the World Championship rules (which are available on the T&RA website), a world challenge is warranted. Ben Cawston, the current World Champion, has dominated over the last last 2 years winning 7 out of 8 of the qualifying tournaments, including all 4 Opens. The rules require that any challenger must have won at least 2 qualifying tournaments to be eligible to challenge Ben. Given Ben's dominance, no player has qualified to challenge and consequently there will be no challenge this November. Ben therefore retains his World Championship.
