Alan Lovell will be this year’s Guest Speaker.
Alan Lovell has credentials in both of our sports.
Peter Seabrook and Alan won the First Pairs for Winchester in 1972, before heading to Oxford winning two of the three first pair matches against Cambridge.
Alan played during the golden period of Howard Angus, Julian Snow and Alan Lovell.
Alan was the Amateur Singles Champion five times (81, 83-86) and the Doubles Champion on ten occasions (with John Clench, Andrew Windham and six times with Mick Dean).
Alan and Norwood Cripps were a stand out Pro Am pair, winning the British Open six times (77-82).
Alan served as Chairman of the Tennis Committee and sat on the International Board representing the UK, chairing the process which created the new World Singles Championship at Hampton Court.
As the Amateur Champion, Alan was used as the bench mark when the new handicap process was created by Chris Ronaldson and Charles Wade.
